Hiking boots → Your most important tool for going the distance

There is probably no question we have received more than: "Which hiking boots should be used on the Camino?" This is an incredibly difficult question to answer as everyone's feet are different. The most important thing is to know yourself and try yourself. If you don't have the time before you go, or if you don't know the terrain, we will of course guide you as best we can. 
 
Since we have hiked countless kilometers in all kinds of footwear, we naturally have some expertise in the field. The problem is that what we recommend to people here at the editorial office is completely different. We have some that prefer hiking boots, whereas some walk in bare feet, running shoes, sandals and whatever else you can think of to put on your feet.  
 
If you are preparing for Camino, we can also only emphasize that the terrain is incredibly variable. After all, you hike around 800 kilometers.
