It's amazing how good outdoor watches people have gotten. Some use the GPS every day, and so they have to charge their watch almost daily or every other day, depending on which watch it is.

If you don't use all the cool functions an outdoor watch has, some of them can hold power for several weeks. We especially used the pedometer on our Garmin watch when we were away. We could also use Spotify so that you can have all your favorite music on your watch, control the music from there and connect to your bluetooth headset. This is what you call a smartwatch.

We have had a Garmin Outdoor Watch with us on several of our Camino trips. Many also have their Apple Watch or Android smartwatch with them, but we have not yet tested this. We are big fans of Garmin, who are also known for having some of the best GPS signals + they are known for making running watches. So if you can find a multifunctional outdoor watch like Garmin, you can count on a good friend out on your trails in the form of a watch you can trust.

What we have is waterproof with a pedometer. It sits fantastically on the wrist, and it is frequently used to control the music and read all the notifications we get from our mobile phones. We therefore have no objection to recommending a good Garmin watch.
